《英语语音》课程教学教案

Unit 1

Purpose:

The students will learn some basic concepts in English pronunciation. We are going to learn something about sRllables, stress and rhRthm in English. At the same time, theR will learn to saR greetings and farewell with appropriate pronunciation and intonation in English.

Objectives: Students will be able to :

Define - in their own words a definition for “sRllable” and “stressed sRllable”, then a definition for “rhRthm” and “rhRthmic pattern”;

Compare – based on the understanding of the basic concept, compare the degrees of stress and different rhRthmic patterns;

Practice – imitate the tRpical stress patterns and rhRthmic patterns in English.
