Unit 5 What are the shirts made of?

The First Period Section A 1a–2c

Teaching aims(教学目标)

1.正确运用被动语态谈论物品的材料和产地。

2.掌握一般过去时态的被动语态,由 was/were +过去分词构成。学会be made of和be made in的用法四、通过熟悉我们周围经常使用的物品的历史来开阔眼界,丰富自己的阅历,使自己养成勤于思考,善于总结的好习惯。

3. Language points(语言点)

要求掌握以下句式:

(1)A: What is the ring made of? B: I think it is made of silver.

(2)A: Where was it made? B: It was made in Thailand.

(3)A: Who were they made by? B: They were made by university students.

要求掌握以下词汇:material, chopsticks, coin, fork, blouse, silver, glass, cotton, steel, grass, leaf, produce, widely, process

Difficulties(难点):be made of 与be made from 的使用及区别。

Teaching steps(教学步骤)

1. Warm-up and revision(课堂热身)

Groupwork: Show some pictures and have Ss discuss the question in groups: What are they made of? They are made of wood / gold
